Model Makers for Movies have amazing artistic skills and abilities. blows my mind to see the detail that goes into these models

One of my favourite films of all time..god memories."In space no one can hear you scream….." tense, and completely terrifying. Ripley Rocks! I even used to have a Ginger cat called Jonesy. The models are brilliant I never realized they were so big!

As much as I like CGI I always love shots which use these kind of amazing models

CGI allows more abilities from the mind without the incredible skills with the hands that models like this took to make. New is nice, but these old models have a more realistic look on film. Kudos to those folks.

      That's what I'm seeing sir.

Can't be. Star wars came out the same year as alien and at-ats didn't show till 1980

"Visual Effects Supervisor Brian Johnson… The Nostromo was originally yellow, and the team filmed shots of the models for six weeks before Johnson left to work on The Empire Strikes Back."
      Isn't Wikipedia awesome?!
