Col. Gordon R. Roberts, who received the Medal of Honor as a sergeant during the Vietnam War, retired from the Army on Friday at Fort Bragg.
Roberts was the most senior soldier on active duty wearing the nation’s highest military honor, said Maj. Gen. Kenneth S. Dowd, commander of Fort Bragg’s 1st Theater Sustainment Command. Not a one-time hero, Roberts also has two Silver Stars, the third-highest award for valor.

I remember seeing him at Carlisle Barracks in 2008. Humbling.

And there was a Camaro with NC MoH plates I'd see in the parking lot that I assume was his.

it was Col Roberts' Camaro and when he first got that vehicle you would not believe how many times he was stopped for "impersonating a hero" and told to take those MOH plates off his vehicle (he was a Cpt in the 44th Med Brigade). Proud/honored and humbled to have served under him,
