#90 Would you expect any less from this wonderful generation of WWII vets? You can put the onions away now, Chive.

  • Just Plain Jason

Hey dipshit, go away and play that stupid game somewhere else…

    • Miles Rocks

Preferably the one where he takes an old 6-shot wheel gun, puts in one bullet and pulls the trigger until he gets it right.

  • Just Plain Jason

#90 Is that in Maine? It has been going six years since I flew back through there.

    • John

Yup its Bangor Maine, it was our last stop before heading to the mid east

      • John

Last stop in the US for most of us i mean.

        • Just Plain Jason

Yeah we came back home through there. It was awesome…they are some good guys there, I remember just laying in the grass…

  • freddy boy

To all veterans, the sincerest thank you: for our freedoms, for our security and for our way of life. If you see someone in uniform at a grocery store, a Starbucks, on a plane – don't let these guys and gals pull their wallets out. If you're hiring – make sure you look at these fine men and women. There are too few who stand for us and their sacrifice and service should be honored every single day. Thank You!

  • DCAdamas

I must have gotten something in my eye, Thank you to all currently Serving today and those who have already have!

  • dbsnydes

#113 jesus the last one killed me

    • Steven

It's a touching image. I hope I never find out it was fake, please never.

      • donalbaine

I can guarantee it isn't fake. I've seen the very same thing in person when i redeployed in January. If you think this one hit you square in the heart, see it for real with people you know personally. It's incredible. You can't fake that kind of emotion..

  • Just Some Guy

Thanks to all those who serve and who have served.

  • matt

Very humbling. Soldiers are people too and they have families. God bless all veterans past, present, and future. Thank you to all of them and their families.

  • Gallus

I served 20 years in the U.S. Army, from the Viet Nam Era through Operation Desert Storm. This gallery captures much of the emotional range of service – toil, cobat, fatigue, sacifice, heart break, and a little victory from time to time. Thank you.

  • beakt

The Chive, you've outdone yourself again. Thank you for capturing the spirit of our military so well. From a U.S. Army vet, 2001-present. May God bless our wounded warriors and bring peace and comfort to the loved ones of those we lost.

  • Bob

From a vet and current state police officer, Thank You to all my brothers. You guys rock. This brought tears to my eyes and many great memories.

  • Tiber_Septim

To ALL of the men and women In the Service of the USA and it's allies, thank you for your service, dedication and sacrifice. In a time of turmoil in the middle east and Africa it is comforting to know we have people who are ready and willing to protect, life liberty and freedoms. God Bless you all

  • MN Expat

Both my grandfathers served in WWII, and an uncle in Vietnam. I am so thankful for their service, plus the service of all the men and women before them, with them, and after them. You are what make our country, and our world (to our friends in Canada, the UK, Australia, and all our other coalition forces) so much better. God bless and godspeed!

  • Patrick

      • joif

It is also rememberance day in the UK and basically all the other commonwealth countries and many in Europe too… check your facts before patronizing, even if it was a daft comment.

      • T.O.

Actually it is in Canada….although a stupid comment from m.o.t. God bless America and God
