But, I think the one pic with the plane crashing/breaking up should be removed.

I knew a waiste gunner on a -24 that flew on one of the early Ploesti raids that told me they had leaves and such blowing through the fuselage on the run in. That's some flying there!! Amazing.

#37 clipped the runway, that's the puff behind the plane. When they landed they realized they'd ruptured the hull and had to beach the plane before it sank.

#67 is the a U.S. B-57 Canberra medium bomber. The tower in the lower right corner is likely the Control tower at what was then the Hutchinson Naval Air Station, located in Yoder Kansas. In the last years of the fifties or early 1960 these airplanes were assigned to the Kansas Air National Guard. My father was one of the original members of this unit and travelled around the world on variousilitary missions with these airplanes. Some notable missions included the Atomic Bomb tersting program on Christmas Island in1961. Phenomenal aircratf taken from a British design by Martin Aircraft. Neat to see "new" photos of them.

"Tower on the LEFT side…" my bad.

    # 23 is Harvard taking the low road around Lion Rock, Piha Beach, New Zealand. They don't do that anymore!
