“I know everyone is tight on money, however, I am participating in the Tunnel
To Towers Run in NYC on September 29th. If you aren’t familiar with the run,
it is in memory of the firefighters, policemen, and civilians who lost their
lives on September 11th, 2001 (I will never forget showing up to school that
morning…and eventually watching the news at Grandpa’s house that night).
I will be running with a team called “Team Harrow” which is in honor of
Captain Ben Harrow. He played lacrosse here at Army and graduated in 2005,
he is an absolute physical specimen and legend in the program. He went on to
become a Green Beret and recently lost his legs and part of his right hand
in his latest deployment to Afghanistan.
As you could imagine, having an injury as serious as his deserves special
attention. His family is attempting to build a home that accommodates for
his injuries and allows him to move as easily as possible.
What I ask of you guys is to help make a donation and/or forward this email
to your colleagues, sororities/fraternities, teams, and friends in order to
help his family reach their goal. By doing this, you will be sponsoring me
on this run. Please follow the link below if you are interested.”
